Executive Chef Leo Carney Jr. has traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Mediterranean experiencing differing cultures and cuisines. With more than 25 years foodservice experience working in a number of well-known hotels, Carney completed his culinary training in the Navy.
Born and raised in Chicago, Carney has worked at iconic Chicago hotels including the Palmer House Hilton and the Congress Hotel. He moved to Central Illinois in 2004 and became Executive Chef at the Chateau Hotel in Bloomington and then the Prairie Building in Peoria before opening several restaurants in Peoria.
Known for his culinary creations, Carney credits his outstanding mentors for his success and is honored to be SAVOR…Peoria’s Executive Chef at the Peoria Convention Center.
